2018 Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival

Pop, Jazz, Blues, Latin – The 2018 Annual Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival is August 24, 25 & 26 at Esther Short Park in Vancouver, WA.  Recognized by musicians, fans and critics as one of the best concert events of the summer, the Festival is “…the largest festival of its kind in the Northwest…” (ABC TV KATU 2, Portland, Oregon).  “Our musical theme this year is ‘The Power of Women’ and we are featuring GRAMMY and BLUES AWARD winning female artists as our headline musicians, as well as nationally acclaimed jazz and blues musicians and artists who are breaking onto the national scene,” says Artistic Director Michael Kissinger.

The lineup includes: Judy Collins —American pop and folk music legendShemekia Copeland —BLUES MUSIC AWARD winnerTierney Sutton — 8-time GRAMMY-nomineeMarcia Ball — BLUES AWARD winner and GRAMMY-nomineeCoco Montoya — Blues guitar virtuosoJohn Jorgenson — GRAMMY-winner, jazz guitarist and multi-instrumentalistClaudia Villela — Brazilian jazz singer; and Lao Tizer, Fusion jazz band leader and pianist.  25 concerts will be performed during the 3-day Festival, including 17 bands on the Main Stage and 8 on the Music Education Stage.

WINE, ART, FOOD – Attendees can sample more than 100 wines with a 1-ounce taste or purchase a glass to enjoy at the Festival, as well as food from local restaurants.  Art enthusiasts can shop the 20 fine artists from CaliforniaIdahoOregon and Washington.  Commercial exhibitors are also on site throughout the weekend displaying their products and services.  “The Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival is a unique northwest cultural arts event,” explains Festival Manager Maria Manzo“It is multi-faceted cultural festival, where people hear great music, enjoy Northwest wine, see beautiful fine art, and become immersed in an eclectic and creative weekend.”

LOCATION  & TICKETS – Esther Short Park in Vancouver, Washington at 8th & Columbia Streets.  Blankets & low-back chairs are permitted.  Wine, Food and Art are purchased separately.  Prices range from $25 for single tickets to $70 for a 3-Day Pass.

HISTORY – Some of the most important jazz artists have performed at the Festival including: Arturo SandovalDavid Sanborn, Bo Diddley, Al Jarreau, Blind Boys of Alabama, Manhattan Transfer, The Rippingtons, The Brubeck Brothers, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Bela Fleck, The Yellowjackets, WAR, and others.  It is recognized as one of the most prestigious Jazz Festivals on the West Coast.  Since 1998, more than 150 bands and 650 fine artists have participated.
