21OCTAYNE – second round! Tentatively titled „2.0“, the highly-anticipated sophomore album by THE new rock band is a feast for all lovers of quality music. Fronted by powerhouse vocalist Hagen Grohe (The Joe Perry Project), guitarist Marco Wriedt (ex-Axxis) and drummer Alex Landenburg (Rhapsody) unleash a broad variety of ideas, sounds and songs, ranging from dynamic up-tempo rockers (“Devil In Disguise”) and heavy stompers (“Fly With Me”) to sweet rock radio-friendly tracks (“When You Go”) and a dramatic, 10-minutes long prog opus (“Tale Of A Broken Child”). This is musical diversity on the highest level, with strong own identity and first-class musicianship. After even convincing the audience of rock legends Uriah Heep on their tour in 2014, now “2.0” shows that the sky is the limit for 21OCTAYNE!
„Into The Open“ in May 2014. Nationwide radio airplay in Germany and several other countries came as an unexpected but pleasant surprise and rave reviews worldwide helped to establish 21OCTAYNE quickly. In 2015 the band parted ways with bass player Andrew Lauer. For current/future live gigs they will use replacements until a steady new member has been found. But Grohe, Wriedt and Landenburg are not affected by this situation really; on “2.0” they display the whole variety of up-to-date rock music. And proof of their instincts and courage alike is their new video clip, filmed for the song “When You Go”: here we have two children (boy and girl) taking the star roles. “We are extremely happy how things were unfolding with the clip”, the band states. “Looking back, we were more than lucky that everything fell into place suddenly. When doing video clips, of course the result very much depends on the quality of actors – especially when you work with children – not to forget the director’s intuition and knowledge. With seven day of filming scheduled and a real, lively storyline it definitely was a risky undertaking. But now seeing the final result, we are totally blown away by „When You Go”. It turned out into a real movie and we are proud to have such an amazing clip representing our song. Also, all this was a lesson for us in another way: just like when we write new songs; follow your gut feeling and believe in what you do. We are certain that this way the most real and authentic music comes to light too.”
