This is our 4th year covering this great event and, i must say it is truly an honor to celebrate the Man From Silver Mountains Legacy.. Not only is it an ongoing tribute to Ronnie James Dio but it is also his charity.
All his friends that are not touring come each an every year to pay their respects to Ronnie an Wendy Dio’s charity and to help in any way they can by signing guitars and photo’s , shirts anything that can be auctioned off to raise money for this great charity. This year $46,000 dollars was raised to help stop cancer. It is an all day event with live music every year as well as a motorcycle ride from Glendale Harley Davidson to Los Encino’s Historic Park gates open at 10am and close at 5pm.
The first band was Sadie and the Tribe and they rocked the hell out of it to get this party started, then came Petty Cash a Tom Petty Tribute. I was waiting for DC4 to hit the stage followed by our friends Budderside who never disappoint.
The big cats came out in force after the other bands entertained us first it was Marc Torien and Bulletboys taking the stage and killing it for a 30minute set that was off the hook but the best was yet to come with an all star lineup.
Oni Logan, Sean McNabb, Simon Wright, Rowan Robertson, and the incomparable Dave Grohl came out and put a stamp on the whole day.
We here at Backstage360 would like to Express our gratitude for allowing us to cover this monumental event. I would like to personally thank Wendy Dio and her staff for having us again and for the amazing job your doing in Ronnie’s name.
Save this date everyone for next year’s event always in May.
For a great cause and great time The Ride for Ronnie next May is a must.
