Visiting Bobby Fernandez (Bassist for Symbolic) at the Dingwall guitar booth with some very fine examples of their Bass line.  The Basses are both beautiful, seductive and mesmerizing.  Dingwall does have a simple goal: “They want to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up every time you play a Dingwall.” Here are some facts about the Dingwall line from their website:  “Passionate, Driven, Hardworking, Honest, Creative, Proud, Obsessive; these are words that describe the people at Dingwall Guitars.  They lie awake at night dreaming up ways to build better and better instruments.  Currently they occupy 3000 sq ft of space in Saskatoon’s Are/University district.  They have a core team of 4 that are very involved in the selection of woods, production and customer service.  They also have two part time team members that assist in electronics assembly and general shop upkeep.  The shop atmosphere is casual but intensely focused.”

At Dingwall Guitars they approach their craft with a passion that borders on obsession.  Somehow the love that they have for the instruments as they build them stays with the instrument when it leaves the shop.  Maybe, that is what players describe as the “soul” of an instrument.  It is their hope that you as a customer will not only be blown away by the quality of feel and construction, but will also connect on a spiritual level with their instruments.  In that way, you will bring the best out of the instrument and it will bring the best out in you.
