Sometimes a ride in the car with your Mom is all it takes to inspire great Rock and Roll. Since the release of their Dirty & Divine album, Thundermother is proving that this era marks a fresh chapter for the band-that has a new lineup and renewed energy. This mix of fresh talent & veteran leadership has breathed new life into the band’s sound.
Released on February 7, 2025, Dirty & Divine introduces a new powerhouse lineup on this Album. We have Founder and Band Leader Filippa Nässil on Guitar, and reuniting with the band, is Majsan Linberg on Bass. Linnea Vikström Egg on vocals and Joan Massing on drums are the two newest members, rounding off this group of Swedish Sensation Rock Goddesses.
The album, AFM Records, as music does serve as the backdrop of our lives, lyrically explores themes of personal power and connection.
It kicks off with a rush of high energy! Starting off with “So Close” which has Guitar riffs and vocal delivery that feel like the musical equivalent of stepping on the gas and never letting up!” Can’t Put Out The Fire” This chorus is built for fist-pumping that gives it that classic arena-rock feel. “Speaking of the Devil” A bluesy-filled number with a devil-may-care attitude.. “Feeling Alright” The chorus sticks in your head long after the song ends, making it one of the album’s catchiest tracks. “Take The Power” The bold message in this song feels like an anthem to the Band’s Journey. “I Left My License in the Future” One of the album’s wildest rides—Written by Linnea while on a car ride with her Mom, is like a love letter to classic rock excess. “Dead or Alive” leans into its darker themes with a sense of urgency. “Can You Feel It” is all about attitude, featuring some of the most confident vocal work on the album. “Bright Eyes” A crowd-pleaser and is destined to be a fan favorite at live shows. “American Adrenaline” Hitting full-throttle! The high-energy encapsulates the reckless spirit of rock ‘n’ roll.
I had the chance to sit down with Linnea and have a candid conversation about her stepping into the role as lead singer which has been 8 years in the making. The Ride or Die camaraderie, as Filippa, the backbone of Thundermother, was pregnant during the recording, the synergy, and the love of renegade rock gear.
They are not just musicians but real people with commitments—balancing family, relationships, and their passion for music. Rock ‘n’ roll isn’t just about attitude it’s about strength, support, and never backing down. And Thundermother embodies every bit of it.
Overall, Dirty & Divine blends classic hard rock with a modern edge, proving that Thundermother is evolving while staying true to their roots.
