Dustin Prinz is an up and coming singer/songwriter born and raised in the small town of West Point, Nebraska. Dustin’s guitar method is a blend of hybrid picking and percussion developed during his days as a drummer. Dustin calls his style “Parapicking”. His playing style garnered attention from folks at Jamplay.com and he was invited to record video tutorials for his very popular guitar lesson series called “Parapicking For Knuckleheads”.
What music writers are saying about Dustin Prinz
Stephen Vicino, music writer and founder of the blog Music Existence, in a video premiere article featuring the Dustin Prinz video “Feeling It”. Stephen writes, “I’ve never met Dustin Prinz, but after watching the second music video from Dustin Prinz’s just released EP Feeling It, I’m convinced he’s what John Mayor would be if we could all agree that John Mayer is a sweetheart”.
In a feature article for BestNewBands.com, Liz Rowley writes, “Prinz has
been chipping away at his musical endeavors for most of his life,
attuning himself to his craft with the same passion as he tackles life’s ups and downs. Dustin Prinz is the real deal; wading through the industry
with pure intent. His work reflects his passion, and his long discography wins affection with steady precision”.
Joshua Boydston of the Oklahoma Gazette writes, “Few musicians take the time to master their instrument in the way that Oklahoma City
singer-songwriter Dustin Prinz has, he’s a guitar virtuoso in every sense
of the word, and Eleven gives him the chance to show just how far he can push that skill.
A small sample of comments from Dustin Prinz Youtube fans Mike – comment on “Let Her Go” I Hey Dustin – I just wanted to let you know I heard this song almost 3 years ago now and I don’t think I’ll ever forget it. You have a real knack for producing music and I wish the best for you in anything you do. I’ll be a fan for life.

Dustin on his influences and inspiration
“I have worked very hard to develop my style and I draw inspiration from many of my favorites, Michael Einziger of Incubus, Bon lver, Travis Meeks of Days Of The New, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Tommy
Emmanuel, Rodrigo y Gabriella and John Gomm. I believe that my entire reason for being is to encourage others to find their passion and take a chance. There really isn’t anything more gratifying than waking up to
work on something you love. When I get a message from a fan, describing how one of my songs has inspired them to pick up the guitar, I am reminded why I do this”.
