For the very first time, artists and fans will be able to work together to provide entertainment in high demand secondary markets. Fanbassador is the first competition based crowdfunding platform that allows fans in multiple cities to compete for a concert by their favorite artists. By working directly with the artist’s team in the planning stages of a tour, Fanbassador’s platform gives smaller cities who are usually bypassed on tours an opportunity to bring that show to their market, allowing musicians to optimize revenue and spread their music to new cities.
“By using Fanbassador’s platform, fans in smaller markets finally have a shot at bringing a tour to their city that would have normally gone somewhere else. It allows us to make the best use of our time while on the road, playing in cities where there is the most excitement and demand is ensuring a positive and successful tour.”- Shaant Hacikyan, frontman for Cute Is What We Aim For who is the first client of Fanbassador.
Fanbassador works by planning potential concerts in cities that are between the major market shows. Then, crowdfunding campaigns are launched on Fanbassador.com allowing fans to pre-order admission for their city’s show. Fans can also purchase additional perks like merchandise, meet and greets, stage side access, the ability to choose the setlist, and more. Admission sales and perks revenue go towards the fundraising goal for your city’s concert. The first city to fund the predetermined goal is added to the tour. All fans who pre-ordered admission and perks for cities that didn’t hit their goal won’t get charged for anything.
Recently, Fanbassador launched its first competition with the band Cute Is What We Aim For for their 10 Year Anniversary Tour. Fans immediately took to the idea and rallied together to support their city’s campaign. Within just two days, fans in and around Pittsburgh had successfully funded the first Fanbassador competition, beating out Lakewood, OH who had funded over 50% of the goal within that time.
“Fanbassador’s model has all the key points that others are missing,” says Matt Galle (2013 & 2015 Billboard 40 Under 40, Senior Agent – Paradigm Talent Agency, Partner in Fanbassador) in reference to other crowdfunding concert applications that are available today.
Recording artists are making less and less selling albums and are forced to spend more time than ever before out on the road touring. Most shows in major markets are a success, but the secondary cities can be the difference in making a tour successful and profitable. Fanbassador is merging live music and technology in a creative way to benefit everyone involved. Fanbassador empowers the fans in a whole new way by allowing them to win concerts in towns and cities that are typically forgotten about.
