GRAHAM BONNET @ MALONE’S
It’s always a treat when I’m able to catch up with old friends as I was during NAMM week with Graham Bonnet. It was the opening show of his first tour in quite a while. Believe me, I didn’t know what to expect because we hadn’t seen each other nor had I seen him perform in quite a long time.
The new band aptly named The Graham Bonnet Band came out and launched into hits from Graham’s amazing catalog. He covered his iconic career in music with hits from Alcatraz, Rainbow and Michael Schenker. He even did several new songs from the upcoming album to be released later this year.
His new band consists of Conrado Pesinato on guitar, Beth-Ami Heavenstone on Bass and Mark Zonder on Drums. This lineup kicks serious ass and, Graham’s voice is still just as sweet as it always was. In our interview after the show, I found him to super excited about this band, the new music and about touring again in 2016. I must admit that I didn’t know anything about the members of this band but after seeing the show I was blown away by the musicianship and the interpretation of Grahams iconic musical career.
Graham and I had met way back in the 70’s at the Record Plant while I was working there. We were introduced by another Great singer, Mr. Glenn Hughes from Deep Purple. That whole time period was a blur for most of us back then but Graham remembered that day and we had a good laugh.
You can find out everything about the band through their website ( http://www.grahambonnetband.com/ ) or through Facebook.
Currently, they are touring Europe and will then head back to the States for some shows and then off to Australia, New Zealand before coming back to the states to finish work on the upcoming album. Be on the lookout for this iconic singer’s new music and new band. You will be amazed for sure. Stay tuned for more news as Graham and the band get closer to the release of new music from the master, Mr. Graham Bonnet.
