Recently, we received an invitation to come and talk with a band that Duran Duran bassist John Taylor called the “Best live band in the U.S.A.!” Having such an endorsement piqued our curiosity so off went BackStage360’s Maverick to find out if the band could validate such a claim. Not only did the band produce the magic necessary to see why such an accomplished musician would make such an outrageous statement but as you will see in our interview, they have the moxie to back it up.

Los Angeles-based rock band Halo Circus – singer Allison Iraheta (“American Idol” Season 8 finalist and fan fan favorite), bassist/producer Matthew Hager (Duran Duran, Scott Weiland, Simply Red), drummer Veronica Bellino (Jeff Beck, DMC of Run DMC) and guitarist Brian Stead – is set to headline the famed Troubadour on December 14th. In an evening the band dubbed “Say it Loud! A Night of Cultural Disruption,” the event spotlights multi-cultural music influenced by Iraheta’s childhood growing up in South Central. Halo Circus boasts an infectious bilingual alternative rock with unique, powerhouse vocals that shimmer on the band’s forthcoming debut album due out 2016. Iraheta explains, “It's a bilingual concept album about life seen through the eyes of a girl who was raised by El Salvadorian immigrants, and achieved the impossible to become a witness to a world that she didn't know existed where she grew up.”
The record was produced by Hager and mixed by Craig Bauer (Kanye West, Ed Sheeran, Smashing Pumpkins).
