JAY GORDON AND BLUES VENOM
Only one way to make a Southern California afternoon better, pack up a cooler and some lawn chairs and head out to watch Jay Gordon and Blues Venom in concert. Jay is endorsed by Gretsch Guitars and is also a Grammy® Nominee and winner of three Los Angeles Music awards. This particular version of Jay’s band included Sharon Butcher (Bass, Vocals) and Dwane Hathorn (Drums). There was also a special appearance by Anthony Cullins (aka The Fallbrook Kid) the young blues guitarist that everyone is taking about. Anthony is also in a band with drummer Dwane Hathorn called The Fallbrook Vigilantes.
We patiently waited for the band to start playing and didn’t quite realize that we were about to get our weekly dose of Blues and Good old fashion Rock n Roll from some very seasoned musicians. The music was invigorating and was good for the soul. The musicianship was outstanding and should be expected considering the history of these talented musicians. I don’t think most of the crowd had any idea of the band member’s pedigrees and what they were witnessing. The band delivered song after song of great music for the audience and then was joined on stage at the end of their show for a Blues Jam featuring young Anthony Cullins on guitar. If you love music as much as we do please check out The Band’s history at Bluesvenom.com, then make plans with your friends and family to come to a future show.
