KING’S X
King’s X has been one of my favorite bands since I first heard them on the album Gretchen goes to Nebraska. Gretchen prompted me to run out and pick up their debut album, Out of the Silent Planet, which I found nearly as amazing, as well as every album the band has released since. I had the privilege of witnessing what I consider one of the finest Trios on the planet and whom I consider part of the fabric that makes up Rock n Roll. For those unfamiliar with Kings X, they are a hard-rocking power trio with a progressive edge. Their three-part harmonies bring joy to all who listen, and lead singer and bassist Doug Pinnick’s unique voice lets you feel the passion that each song was meant to arouse within us. The trio’s combustible live shows created a die-hard core fan base, with their musical power and Pinnick’s vocals capable of making fans feel like they’d had a dubious religious experience.
The Coach House is a great venue to see your favorite bands up close and personal, and with King’s X you get a FREE meet and Greet after the show. King’s X is all about the music and their fans. The fans are so hard-core that on the song Goldilox the band turned their mics towards the audience and Doug only jumped in a few times to sing along with the crowd. Very cool moment. All the songs showcased their considerable skills as musicians and brought out a great deal of fan enthusiasm. What can I say, that hasn’t been said, about this band. If you get the chance to see them Live, do it! If you love great music search through the bands discography and make some purchases, you won’t be sorry. This is a band that we all need to support because it is the fabric of our lives.
