L.A. Guns: ANOTHER XMAS IN HELL

The little Christmas album, Another Xmas in Hell, will make your “Grinch-heart” grow 3 sizes larger after listening to the lighthearted, but strong rock undertones of L.A.Guns.

The first song, “The Bills/Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You,” starts off with a nice little Christmas tone. Just when you are ready to start pounding with anticipation of screaming guitars and drums, you get a call from a William Shatner (the real deal) with Christmas advice!

Strumming right along with the next song, “Merry Xmas Everybody,” you enjoy the solid riffs of the guitar play while you add a little more Bailey’s Irish Cream in your eggnog and start singing along! This song showcases L.A. Guns’ showmanship of great skill, while having fun with festive music notes.

Once you are all stoked up with the band’s wild drums, guitars, and jingle bells, the next tune just lets you shout as loud as your lungs will let you, “Dreidal.” You only get 9 seconds, but a lot happens in 9 seconds just as the popular Christmas game is played. You can win it all, win half, win nothing, or may have to put everything in the pot!

The Christmas tunes develop further into madness with the rushing sounds of a fast-strummed guitar and rapid pounding drums. With the cute play on words, “There Ain’t No Sanity Clause,” this song drives home a great beat and the realization that there’s a reason that the word “Merry” sometimes get left out of “Merry Christmas.”

Last, but not least, is “Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want to Fight Tonight).” Again, L.A. Guns busts open this song with roaring guitars, drums, and cymbal play with a phrase that I’m sure every guy thinks and wants to say every Christmas! You’ll get why Christmas can be a time of endearment and heartache all at the same time with this tune.

All the songs are rather short listens except for “Merry Xmas Everybody,” and it’s 4 minutes and 11 seconds is the only one with a title that puts an X in Christmas too! With that not going unnoticed, warm up your eggnog and get ready to introduce some hard-core Christmas tunes while trimming the tree this year!
