Founded in 1994 by Dan Lakin and Hugh McFarland, Lakland Guitars is domiciled in Chicago, Illinois. In 2010 Lakland was acquired by now, parent company, Hanson Musical Instruments. Lakland electric basses are designed and manufactured in the United States and Indonesia. Lakland and Hanson Musical instruments endorse a long list of well-known artists and musicians worldwide.
Lakland currently offers four series of bass guitars; Their “US Signature” series, “Hollowbody”, “Classic” and the “Skyline” series and can be purchased online and through approved dealers nationwide.
We stopped by the Lakland booth to chat on camera with artist/representative, Nashville hired gun, Lauren Scheff. Lauren hails from a long line of accomplished musicians and artists. Lauren is a native San Diegan who recently transplanted to the Nashville area to further pursue his already gifted and cultivated music career. Son of Jerry Scheff, a session player for musical icons, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, and The Doors and younger brother to Jason Scheff, now retired, bass player, and vocalist for the mega rock group, Chicago, Lauren has made a name for himself as a composer and a multi-talented artist that is currently performing throughout the southern United States.
