The Stagecoach Festival always has a lot of great artists. The event is held the week after and on the same grounds as the infamous Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Of all the artists at this year’s event the one I was looking forward to hearing the most was Lee Ann Womack.
I was fascinated with her from the very first song. Her voice is as smooth as honey and as strong as ever. Of course she covered all her early hits such as I Hope You Dance and I May Hate Myself In The Morning but the songs off her newest album, The Way I’m Livin, just floored me. Her artistry continued throughout her performance with a mixture of old hits and the songs off her new album which I predict will soon become one of the all-time country classics to be sure. Her band was rock solid as one of Nashville’s best and they kicked serious ass.
The album has already been nominated for Album Of The Year and there are several other awards being discussed when her name is mentioned including Singer Of The Year and Entertainer Of The Year. These just may be in the cards for this amazing artist. What I can tell you is that this Grammy Award winning artist is on firm ground with this latest album.
In a recent interview this humble country girl gave all the credit to others that helped her along her journey but the credit in my opinion goes to this amazing singer. She amazed the crowd from the outset and they all were singing along to her songs which I must say was chilling.
I have to say that the new country artists from the last 15 to 20 years all have some serious writing and playing skills. They seem to have a handle on coming up with very catchy songs that are exploding all over the airwaves.
Lee Ann is currently out on tour throughout the rest of this year. Believe me when I tell you, you owe it to yourselves to try and get out to see this amazing artist. When in her natural habitat, she has the ability to stir up emotions with her velvety voice and her stunning band . Check out her website for upcoming tour dates near you.
