I am fairly certain that the roof of the Infinity Room at the Pala Resort and Casino is a few inches higher than it was before November 19th, when the resort played host to the fabulous Pat Benatar tribute band, Live From Earth.
I want what she’s having! How is it that there is that much WOW in such a tiny frame? Vocal powerhouse, Los Angeles native and a former Miss Anaheim, Jill Burke, delivers in a big way! Not only is she the perfect doppelganger, for the 1980’s chart topping Pat Benatar, but her 3 ½ octave vocal range and stellar stage presence makes for an evening of entertainment, you won’t quickly forget!
Ms. Burke’s professional resume reads like a young performer’s bucket list; a lengthy catalog reading of dream jobs in theater, musicals, film and television, including live performances portraying several of Disney’s beloved princesses; she is the voice of William Shatner’s Priceline Negotiator jingle, was a principal vocalist for Norwegian Cruise Lines, has taken on the task of producing and acting in the short film “Huckleberry Dreams”, has won numerous awards for her live theater performances and has graced the stage with several Tony award winning actors.
Surrounding this lovely burst of energy is a group of professional musicians that create a beautifully cohesive stage presence and sound. Close your eyes, the sound will take you back in time, open them again and get caught up in their visual energy and chemistry. Completing this forceful foursome are the equally talented Tim Kleiman on guitar, Rick Zacarro on bass and Trevor Thornton on drums.
Live From Earth performs all of Pat Benatar’s greatest hits and nails each one with perfection. Their Pala Resort show graced us with a full two hour set full of perennial favorites, such as “Treat Me Right”,” I Need A Lover”, “Love Is A Battlefield”; my personal favorite, “Hell Is For Children”, and then just for fun tossed in renditions of Heart’s, “Barracuda”, Blondie’s “Call Me” and ended the night with The Beatles, “Helter Skelter”, proving to their audience and fans that Pat Benatar is not the only sound channeling through this group of talented artists.
Live From Earth is currently performing throughout southern California and will be sharing the stage during the holiday season with several other tribute bands. You can find them on December 10th at Ramono’s Concert Lounge in Riverside with the equally fabulous “DSB” a tribute to Journey, on December 30th at the Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet and on New Years’ Eve catch them at the Rose in Pasadena with Queen Nation.
Keep up with Live From Earth on all of the popular social networks and find more information on Jill and the band, including their event calendar on their website: https://patbenatartribute.band . When you find them scheduled to appear in your neighborhood, You Better Run and make a point of experiencing Live From Earth in person because they won’t be performing just in southern California for long. I predict that this band is yet another one of California’s own that will be soon be spreading the music nationwide!
