Balboa Park is hosting December Nights Dec. 1-2 with live music, food, art, tree lighting, etc. The San Diego Botanical Garden in Encinitas has a major light display. The Rady Shell has scheduled events this month including Nightmare Before Christmas in Concert. Ice rinks have opened up in Temecula, Liberty Station, Viejas and at the Hotel Del Coronado through Jan. 7 and 8. The Escondido Art Center is hosting a series with Tibetan monks.
