OUT AND ABOUT – September 2020

SAN DIEGO BLUES FESTIVAL GOES VIRTUAL

Sept. 12, the 10th annual AimLoan.com San Diego Blues Festival will be on KUSI TV, iHeart Radio and the internet, more details below and at www.sdbluesfest.com. This is an annual event to raise money for the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. I will sorely miss this usually day-long event for me down on the San Diego Bay, marking the end of summer, but at least I’ll get to hear some blues.

The drive-in movies and concerts in Escondido were so popular they are continuing into September. Three Dog Night is scheduled! Details below under the Center for the Arts. Some restrictions apply. Tickets are selling fast and members get first dibs. Some concerts were cancelled and may have a new lineup. I would keep checking the site.

There are some new live music events listed below, most requiring reservations, so there are some options. With some things opening this week, maybe there will be more coming up. While I work hard at being accurate, these are unusual times, so please always check before heading out somewhere. Some events are coming up with very little advance notice and so are not included in this monthly newsletter.

Both the Belly Up and The Coach House are livestreaming concerts:

If you are looking to add some laughter to your life, try Laughter Yoga. Research proves that smiling and laughter boosts your immune system and we can all benefit from that these days. 🙂

Yoga isn’t actually even required, just start laughing! Your body doesn’t know if it is real or fake laughter so you get the positive results from it either way, and before long, the laughter is real!

www.laughteryoga.org and www.yogajournal.com and on You Tube are just a few options.

Sea World has reopened with Zoo Days: Bayside BBQ & Brews (and live music!).  The Zoo and Safari Park are open with restrictions, as is the Midway. At the bottom after the local updates are listed, I have included virtual links for online activities. Some of them are repeats but they are still active. There are some new links for virtual tours of 4 castles and their grounds in the UK. The sound effects are a nice addition. At the very end, I included some links you may enjoy, mostly funny, some uplifting. We can never have too much laughter!
