I’ve been aware of this evenings tribute but never imagined I would see it unfold into a night of blistering guitar riffs and heavy rock drum thunder by some of the best in the business.
The Randy Rhoads Tribute was first up and trust me it has burned memories of sounds and images I will not soon forget .
The house band The Madmen were the engine to fuel the creativity that rocked the room to its core. Brian Tichey Drums, Rudy Sarzo Bass, Andrew Freeman Vox, Gregg Fox Keys. Brian Tichey organizer and drummer extroadonair brought together in true spectacle form a tribute to the musical legacies of their brothers. Randy Rhoads & John Bonham. Such awesome talent from the 13 guitarists to at least that in different drummers that I witnessed this night. My brain became numb as I witnessed Reincarnation at its best. For almost eight hours The Yost became a time machine transporting those in attendance back to the to Randy’s all to short lived solo career & to his time collaborating and writing with Ozzy Osborne.
Guitarists for a complete listing as to who played that eve refer to our, or any online search containing Randy Rhoads tribute 2019 NAMM. For me to list would take forever.
Check out our photo coverage and any video you may find .The Bonzo Bash was also one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long while.
The Core band was The Moby Dicks consisting of Brian Tichey / drums , Sean Colleger / guitar, Chas West / Vocals and Mark Ludmer / Bass who held down the pedal while guests drummers sat in playing Zeppelins greatest most memorable songs. Reminder list of drummers also available on line. If you haven’t experienced these and other events that happen at The Namm show me every year , do your homework.
