Saturday Night I was sitting at my computer and Gaston Flores, The Drummer For Relent, hit me up to see if I’d like to review Relent’s upcoming LP “Heart Attack”. Gaston dropped a copy on me and man I’m glad he did.

Formed in 2016, Relent has been rocking San Antonio area clubs for some time. The band has got big street cred having played SXSW last year.

These guys bill themselves as Christian Rockers but don’t let the tag fool you. This ain’t your mama’s church music! These Texans are bringing the heat with hard driving Numetal laced with rap and hip hop. “Heart Attack” rolls out of the gate at full speed with 7 rockin’ tracks totalling a little over 25 Minutes of Nu Metal Nirvana for the fans.

The LP opens up with the track “Six Feet Under”. Six Feet has the band wrestling with Faith and mortality questions singing “The end is where you begin”.

On Track 2 “ Changed” Lead Singer “Miggy” Tells the familiar story of redemption from the dark side of human failings opening up “changed” with “I was a monster, an addict, a creature of my habits..”

Soo less talk more rock..right? Here’s “Without You” off Relent’s new LP “Heart Attack”…

I won’t go through every track although I’d love to. My personal Favorite On “Heart Attack” is “Addicted” The lyrics in this song talk about how new faith changes us and the response by others around us who haven’t come to the same point in their lives.

If your a fan of this band, and I’m sure you will be after this album, then you’ve already heard a few of these songs with the band having previously released: Rise and Surrendered as singles.

Let’s hear one more of “Heart Attack” here’s my favorite “ Addicted”…

I have to say there isn’t one bad song on this album The musicianship is phenomenal with these guys really bringing it!. . All 7 songs rocked my butt off!

This album will be worth every penny you spend.

“Heart Attack” is available to stream on spotify and for digital download through Amazon, Googleplay and the Itunes store. All the sites are taking preorders now so get yours in as soon as you can. I saw on their facebook page that the band will have A limited amount of physical copies for sale at the album release show April 13th at Fitzgerald’s.
