Everyone at Brick by Brick were in for an unbelievable evening when Resurrection Kings took the stage; which is the new super group project made up of Craig Goldy (Guitars), Vinny Appice (Drums), Sean McNabb (Bass) and Chas West (Vocals). As you would have expected by the names in this group you would be expecting a night of straightforward hard rock with melodic undertones. This is a show review but I need to tell you all, read my Resurrection Kings Album review. You will want to purchase a copy today. On with the show, the band decides to come out of the gates with guns blazing with Black Sabbaths “The Mob Rules” and then; why take a break, how about some Led Zeppelin, “The Immigrant Song”. And now that the crowd is in a frenzy, feed them an original “Livin’ out Loud” which flows perfectly with the first two song selections. The whole set was filled with many of the crowds favorite songs from Black Sabbath, DIO, Lynch Mob, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. My personal hi-lights were the Resurrection Kings originals which they did play two more, “Path of Love” and “Who do you run to”. Other favorite moments included the use of notes in Craig’s guitar solos and Vinny’s drum solo, both were very tasteful and well thought out. Sean’s bass playing and Chas West vocals were icing on the cake. I wish they would have played more of their original songs; however, I can’t complain because I loved every song on the set list.
If you like straightforward hard rock, you can’t go wrong with a Resurrection Kings show. Look up their tour schedule and make it a priority to purchase tickets to see them Live.
