NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 14, 2015) – Rick Monroe continues to make his presence known in the world of entertainment, and the performer is looking forward to a spring where he will be all over the radio and television – like never before.
Monroe is currently promoting his latest single, “Fires Out,” which is sitting at No. 50 on the Billboard Indicator Chart. The song is from his current EP, It’s A Love Thing. The singer is touring and visiting radio extensively to promote the release.
In addition, Monroe will also be making a special guest appearance on VH1 Classic’s highly rated national TV show, That Metal Show, on Saturday, March 14 18, 2015 at 9/8c. Now in its 14th season, the series has featured influential rock acts including: Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Metallica, KISS, Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, Heart, Pearl Jam and Rush.
During his illustrious career, Monroe has represented the format with class and professionalism both here in the United States and abroad. He was among the first artists in the genre to perform in China and Russia. He has also performed for audiences in such places as Kosovo, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands. At the request of Pete Peterson, US Ambassador to Vietnam, Rick performed at the week-long 4th of July celebrations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Mihn City. Monroe was honored to sing the US National Anthem for the 5-year anniversary of the re-opening of diplomatic relations between the countries. This marking the first time the anthem had been sung at a public event in Vietnam in over a quarter-century. Monroe also gave a command performance for former President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev on the USS Sequoia Presidential Yacht, Washington, DC.
