KAABOO Festival is unlike any Rock Festival you have ever been to. This year they had several of the top Chef’s in America that came to share their favorite recipes, do some signings and to serve as judges for a cooking contest among upcoming Chefs’.
This was totally different for me personally and BackStage360 as our entire focus has been solely on the music. As I mentioned however, this was unlike any Rock Festival you have ever been to. We had a chance to interview a few of the “up and coming” chef’s and it actually “seasoned” the sophomore event of KAABOO. You can watch the interview which was done between the contests below.
Some of the Chef’s that were present for the include, Phillip Esteban, Dushyant, Richard Blais, Brian Malarkey, Josiah Citrin, Marcel Vigneron, Ray Garcia and Timmy Hollingsworth.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get to taste any of this amazing aromatic works of art because the lines to taste the culinary masterpieces were in a different area and time prevented further investigation.
Having a Festival as KAABOO include something such as this additional “event in an event” to the overall “Concert Experience” just kind of Spiced things up a bit. (What the heck, pun intended) There were several food publications (Including folks from the Chefs’ Roll Network) and plenty of judges to sample and grade these Chef’s. Several of Southern California’s top local restaurants, Vineyards from all over California and Craft Brewers were in the house as well. Food Photographers were everywhere taking images of the tasty exhibits for their publications.
If you’re looking for a different type of Festival to go to, you will definitely find it at KAABOO DEL MAR. Everything from Aerosmith to Gourmet Dining to some of the finest wines and craft beers in California. It was a bit different from our usual drill but a lot of fun and a true experience for sure. Certainly a true VIP Experience.
