January 2015: seemingly out of nowhere a new band prepares to conquer the metal world: SERIOUS BLACK! Their debut album ‘As Daylight Breaks’ is released and garners fantastic reviews worldwide.
Fans all over Europe enthuse about their awesome stage presence when SERIOUS BLACK embark on extensive tours alongside HammerFall, and Gamma Ray later that year. In between, during the summer, they manage to squeeze in a few festivals, as well as a special guest slot with Kamelot during the band’s three exclusive German shows …
So 2015 was more than eventful for the new act. All the more surprising that SERIOUS BLACK are already set to release their second album‘Mirrorworld’ – which undeniably tops their impressive debut.

‘Mirrorworld’is the epitome of melodic power metal in perfection, an out-and-out consistent album, its qualities flawlessly presented by its protagonists. First and foremost vocalist Urban breed (ex-Tad Morose, ex-Bloodbound), who has left his mark on the new songs with his versatile and powerful voice. Bob Katsionis (Firewind) and Dominik Sebastian (Edenbridge) have supplied the riffs and tasteful solos, drummer Alex Holzwarth (Rhapsody Of Fire) and bassist Mario Lochert (ex-Visions Of Atlantis) providing the rhythm foundation, complemented by keyboardist Jan Vacik, who also took care of mixing and mastering the recordings.
The ‘Mirrorworld’ standard CD consists of nine songs, the Digipak features seven additional bonus tracks which keep up the high standard and fit in seamlessly both in terms of their quality as well as their style. Thanks to their extensive live appearances, this young band has grown into a tight unit in no time, which has resulted in the instinctively confident interaction between the musicians, as well as their ever more finely-tuned songwriting.
And SERIOUS BLACK’s breathtaking development continues: soon after the release of ‘Mirrorworld’, the sextet is set to embark on its first own headlining tour.
