On a warm SoCal evening, we were invited to a VIP private event that would feature a performance by the incomparable Sheryl Crow. The 36 time Grammy nominee did not disappoint. Her set was rocking right from the first song. She covered all her hits from her 9 album catalogue. ALL I WANT DO, got the crowd up and singing along to every word, she followed that up with LEAVING LAS VEGAS, STEVE MCQUEEN, IF IT MAKES YOU HAPPY, MY FAVORITE MISTAKE and many more.
Sheryl had the crowd so engaged that every time she started singing, the crowd sang along throughout the entire song. I then realized that I found myself singing along as well. I had seen Sheryl way back in 1994 at the “Street Scene” festival in San Diego and had met her at that time. I thought then that her music was fresh, and now all these years later her music still resonates with the people and with me. I found myself reflecting on those times back when I heard her first record TUESDAY MORNING BREAKFAST CLUB.
Sheryl is playing Friday night as well I might go see her show again. I found myself humming along with her many hits all the way home, just like the first time I heard her. If you get a chance to catch her on this tour you won’t be disappointed. If you like to rock and sing along this is a perfect show for you.
