Art, invention, creativity and one-of-a-kind fashion converge at Strasburg Rail Road as the tourist destination kicks up its heels to host the 3(rd) annual Steampunk unLimited, October 16 – 18. Billed as an edgy and emerging subculture, Steampunk enthusiasts pay homage to the Victorian Era and Industrial Revolution as they celebrate yesteryear with a modern flare and love of entertainment.
Steampunk unLimited festivities kicked-off Friday, October 16 at 6 p.m. and continued Saturday, October 17 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, October 18 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and included:
— Strasburg Rail Road’s signature 45-minute steam train ride through
beautiful PA Dutch Country
— Live musicians: Eli August and the Abandoned Buildings, This Way to
Egress, Frenchy and the Punk, and headliner: Abney Park, performing
Saturday evening.
— Absinthe cocktail tasting aboard the First-Class Car
— Steampunk Ball, Saturday @ 4 p.m.
— Elegant Victorian dinner aboard the Dining Car with a menu that pulls
the past into the future
— High Tea served under a canopy on the property featuring both savory and
sweet treats
— Miracle Elixir Side Show – an old-fashioned medicine show from the
Victorian Era
— Game Train aboard our four first-class trains, Saturday @ 10 p.m.
— A unique mechanical shop tour including live demonstrations of the
milling machine, ring of fire, and more.
— Steampunk self-defense demonstration from Mark P. Donnelly,
award-winning author, historian, screenwriter and television producer;
— Performing artist, J.P. Porter, the Steampunk Puppeteer
— Variety of vendors featuring jewelry, Steampunk clothing, art, ceramics,
etc.
— Steam powered Calliope
