AVALON, Catalina Island, May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — One of Catalina Island’s most popular summer traditions will soon bring dancing in the streets back to Avalon.
Presented by the Catalina Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, Catalina Island Vacation Rentals, Catalina Island Real Estate and Hamilton Pacific, LLC, the Xceptional Summer Music Concert Series brings together locals and visitors for some of the greatest dance-along, sing-along, family-fun music in Southern California.

The concert series takes place on Wrigley Stage, an outdoor performance venue in the heart of the quaint village of Avalon. The stage’s backdrop is the dramatic beauty of Avalon Harbor and the iconic Casino Building, one of Southern California’s most distinctive architectural landmarks.
Several decades of top 40 hits will kick off the concert series on May 24, when The Xceptional Sirens take the stage. The performers will cover a wide range of hits, sure to get the crowd singing along and dancing in the streets – setting the course for another seven concerts spread throughout the summer calendar.

Scheduled concerts include tributes to Motown, Abba and Woodstock as well as roadhouse rock and high-energy dance music. Some of Catalina Island’s top musicians will take the stage at the Catalina All-Stars concert and the series concludes in early September with a concert that showcases the greatest music from vinyl to digital.
“We’ve seen many families plan their trips to Catalina Island based on the Summer Music Concert Series schedule – it’s become a family tradition for them,” Strege said. “For others it’s the type of spontaneous fun that creates a lifelong memory.”
All of the Summer Concert Series performances are presented free of charge and are appropriate for all ages. A beer garden for those over 21 will be available from 7 to 10 p.m. The concerts will begin at 8 p.m.
