The Fallbrook Vigilantes – CD Release Party
I had been hearing about this young kid, Anthony Cullins, (AKA The Fallbrook Kid) for a couple of years and I had seen a few videos on you tube so I was somewhat familiar with him.
When we were asked to cover his CD Release we jumped at the chance to see this young Phenom in the flesh. What we got was this epic performance from a 15 year old 9th grade student that was both musically proficient and amazingly animated in his performance.
It was like this “old” soul that had been playing Blues, Rock and Funk for years and years. When we spoke to him after the show we had a bit of a wait while his fans gathered for autographs, pictures and his time. Although usually reserved for artists that have been around for years, it wasn’t the case for this young man.
I found Anthony to be very humble and gracious when we spoke about his music and the new album ” The Fallbrook Vigilantes.” I observed a brilliant young musician that not only had the chops but influences that were very diverse. They included Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Jazz Greats Gabor Szabo, George Benson, Blues Legends Buddy Guy, Albert King and Willie Dixon. We spoke in length about his future in the business and his schooling. His primary goals are to get into Berkeley School of Music, continue to write more music and pursue his musical career.
In the interview (At the end of this article) you will see what I saw, an incredible young man with a singleness of purpose and, a definite goal to tour and record more of his music.
If you get a chance to see this young cat play you will see that the “Kid” can flat jam his butt off! The covers that he does such as Stevie Ray Vaughn’s, “Pride and Joy” or Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze” along with his own originals will blow you away. It’s nice to see that the future of music is in great hands with this young man.
You can check him out on Youtube, Facebook under Anthony Cullins or The Fallbrook Vigilantes.
