The House of Marley, the first FSC® certified consumer electronics brand within the United States, today announced that it has been recognized as a 2019 CES® Innovation Award Honoree for the recently launched, No Bounds XL cork crafted Bluetooth speaker.
The annual CES Innovation Awards program sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) celebrates outstanding product design and engineering in brand-new consumer technology products across 28 award categories. Within the category for sustainability and eco-design, The House of Marley was named Honoree for this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada this January.
Continuing to embody The House of Marley’s innovative practices in sustainable design, the No Bounds XL Bluetooth speaker is uniquely crafted using sustainably harvested cork. The environmentally conscious construction also includes Marley’s signature REGRIND™ silicone, recyclable aluminum and REWIND™ fabric composed of 100% recycled plastics (rPET).
Consciously harvested and thoroughly tested, the integrated cork is lightweight, durable, naturally antimicrobial and impermeable to water, allowing it to sustain wear and tear, offer vibration dampening, and float. The rugged, buoyant and waterproof (IP67) speaker is the largest in the all terrain No Bounds speaker series. With a 16 hour battery life and a quick charge time of only two hours, the XL acts as a power bank for your smartphone or other USB powered device. Its wireless dual-speaker pairing capability allows streaming across two No Bounds speakers while the built-in microphone offers speakerphone functionality and Siri integration. The clip-able design and attached carabiner allow for high performance listening indoors or out.
“The Consumer Electronics Show has always served as the world’s gathering place for innovation and design. We look toward CES as the opportunity to encourage growth and begin changing the minds of consumers and the industry,” explains Vice President of The House of Marley, Mario Lasen. “Being recognized by industry peers for our efforts to bring sustainability and eco-design practices to consumer electronics is a humbling honor.”
The cork and reclaimed elements incorporated into the No Bounds XL are intended not only to bring an earthly beauty and stylish feel to audio accessories but to tell an important story around blending natural elements with technology in a responsible manner. As part of their Project Marley platform, each year House of Marley makes a meaningful contribution to One Tree Planted. Since 2017, House of Marley through the donations made to One Tree Planted, contributed in the planting of 125,000 trees.
The House of Marley No Bounds XL along with industry-first product debuts from the upcoming collection, will be on display at CES Las Vegas January 8-11, 2019 at booth #14041 located in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
