Musician and proprietor Ryan Bueter, started The Killer Dueling Pianos in 1997. Since then Ryan has had over 5,000 shows, ranging everything from wedding receptions and nightclubs, to professional fundraisers and conventions, and backing it with a consistent five star rating. Ryan is also an ordained minister, just in case something goes awry on your ceremonial day. The Killer Dueling Pianos has a total of nineteen musicians, nine in southern California, and another ten spread throughout the country. Recently I saw The Killer Dueling Pianos at the Aces Comedy Club, which is located in Murrieta, California. I have to say I was impressed. Ryan Bueter and Johnny Greco did a wonderful job with keeping the crowd engaged throughout the night. They both had request boxes atop of their Pianos, with scratch paper and pencils for song requests. Throughout the night the duo preformed everything from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Taylor Swift, and everything in-between. During each song or between songs, they’ll improvise lyrics and call out people for either group or individual participation, if you didn’t look like you’re having fun, they were be sure to fix that. Very crowd engaging, and keeping an even flow of energy throughout the night. Halfway through the night, Ryan had the crowd shout out single syllable adjectives for a rhyming song that he had, with something that started like, “Theirs a —- in the hole, in the frog in the tree,” and continued on from there. He got up to ten words and it was very comical, especially when the crowd started to really get into it It took about ten minutes to finish, and didn’t have a problem with remembering the words. Ryan and Johnny were there for one reason, and that was to keep people happily entertained. Whether it was enjoying songs of yesteryear, or belly laughing, they excelled on all fronts.
