Being a huge Train fan goes without saying. RocmanRocks has been a huge fan since they first hit the airwaves. The performance that they gave at this years inaugural KAABOO Festival was an Epic Performance. The crowd that was in attendance was singing along with the band from the outset.
For Pat Monahan, crafting songs that have elevated pop radio and uniquely crystalized audiences’ shuffling inner-life has placed him on coveted songwriting ground. Add the fact that he fronts a band with a twenty year arsenal of enigmatic, signature hits – including “Meet Virginia,” “Drops Of Jupiter (Tell Me),” “Calling All Angels,” “Hey Soul Sister,” “Marry Me,” and “Drive By,” among others – and you begin to understand why their 7th studio album, Bulletproof Picasso, rings so damned true.
The entire band was right on Que. With over a hundred bands playing over the three day period, getting over to the Zuma stage to catch Train proved to be akin to running an obstacle course but catching TRAIN was a must. They hit the stage and were off and running. Their set list contained all the hits mentioned above and even contained a AEROSMITH song which took me by surprise. All in all their show was Epic. If you did not catch them at KAABOO catch them on tour and you will have a blast because this band ROCKS.
Train was one of the highlights of the weekend for Rocman!
