You can talk about a career of over 35 years or 28 studio albums and either one would be an amazing feat in itself. However, the other night Phil Mogg, (Lead Vocalist) Paul Raymond, (Keys / Guitar) Andy Parker (Drums) along with Vinnie Moore (Lead Guitar) and Rob DeLuca (Bass Guitar) launched into hit after hit after hit from UFO”S iconic catalogue of music and made those items take a back seat to the everlasting power of the music itself.
The current tour was on its final leg when they stepped onto the Ramona Mainstage but the iconic band didn’t miss a thing. UFO’s sound was tight and Phil’s voice and showmanship is as great as it was the first time I saw them all those many years ago. They tore down a sold out Ramona Mainstage and those in attendance simply didn’t want them to stop.
The band has had many great guitarists over the years for sure. It has included the likes of Michael Schenker and Pete Way (Bass) but the current lineup of Vinnie Moore on Lead Guitar and Rob DeLuca on Bass is just as amazing and a great fit. Many people consider UFO as one of the best metal bands of the last 40 years. If you didn’t catch them on this tour, you need to make it a point to see them live the next time they play in the states.
About an hour after the show, we were able to encourage Vinnie (Moore) and Rob (DeLuca) to allow us some time just prior to jumping on the bus for parts unknown. You can see the interview at the bottom of this article.
If you want to catch up with the band check out their Facebook page-UFO or their website http://www.ufo-music.info/band.htm
Remember it’s all about the music people.
