… This year, we couldn’t be more excited to bring the Dragonfly Music Festival to the fabulous California Center for the Arts Center in Escondido on Sept. 10-12th for three magical days & nights that will include some of the finest blues, jazz, rock, and world music! The festival will take place in multiple indoor & outdoor venues including the Concert Hall, the Centennial stage, and the Lyric Courtyard. Our Vendor Village will be indoors at the Concert Hall and be accessible to the public featuring exciting clothing, jewelry, art, & specialty item vendors. A special ALL ACCESS-VIP package will be available too! Also, group hikes will take place Friday & Saturday mornings in the Escondido area.

The history of the Dragonfly Music Festival
Emerging from the haze of Covid, the inaugural Dragonfly Music & Hiking Festival presented by the Six String Society took flight in Sedona, Arizona in 2021. What a glorious feeling it was to fly free once again! Over 350+ people took part in this exciting new festival with over 150 people making the trip from San Diego alone. For 2 years, our mantra was “Hike by Day, Music by night” and boy did we have a great time during those first two festivals! From the onset, this event was going to be special. It became an international gathering of some of the finest performers in the world all coming together in this magical place. Sedona was truly awe-inspiring! However, the broader vision was for it to never to be tethered to a set date or location each year.
For over 3 years, the Dragonfly rested patiently until an excellent scenario came together in San Marcos, CA for the one day 2025 Dragonfly Music Festival that took place on Oct. 4, 2025 at the TERi Center. It was truly magical as thousands of real Dragonflies descended on the Dragonfly Music Festival. Although a bit different than the multi-day concept, this one-day, outdoor, festival featured 8 of San Diego’s most diverse musical groups bringing their energy and spirit to the gathering. The performances included music from West Africa, to Latin/Cumbia, Celtic, rockabilly, blues, soul, and to Rock & Roll. There was literally something for everyone with the common thread being the love of music & community. The Dragonfly Festival has always been for the people and will always remain with the people! In addition to the music, the spirit of the festival fosters an environment of unity & community where diversity is not only expected but embraced.
